IPAV (The Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers) was established for the purpose of raising the standard of professional real estate practice in Ireland. The Institute currently has almost 1,300 members nationwide is now the leading representative of auctioneers, valuers and estate agents in the Republic of Ireland.  IPAV Members benefit from shared knowledge, support and advice from Council members, staff and the CEO of the Institute.

The current CEO is Mr. Pat Davitt whose principal role is to oversee the educational and industry requirements of IPAV members and manage the daily affairs of the Institute. IPAV’s Council is the governing body of the Institute. The Council is supported by an Executive Council which includes IPAV’s President, Snr. Vice President, Jnr. Vice President and CEO of the Institute.

IPAV is also affiliated the following professional bodies:

  • National Association of Realtors (NAR). The National Association of REALTORS®, “The Voice for Real Estate,” is America’s largest trade association, representing 1.3 million members, including NAR’s institutes, societies and councils, involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
  • TEGoVA: European Association of professional bodies working for standards, ethics and quality in the real estate valuation market. It represents qualified valuers of 59 professional bodies from 32 countries.
  • CEPI: European Association of Real Estate Professions (CEPI). The association represents over 30 national associations and more than 350,000 real estate professionals in the EU and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries. Its objective is to voice the interests of the real estate sector and professionals to the European institutions, improve market knowledge, strengthen working relationships between professionals and oversee their professional ethics, professional practices and quality of education.
  • NAEA: The NAEA is the UK’s leading professional body for estate agents. The main functions include regulating, guiding and assisting property professionals across a wide range of disciplines.
